This was a no wait entrance into the Accademia...after picking up tickets..we were able to go right inside, no long lines to wait on. Inside we were able to see beautiful artwork and then the incredible "David". How did Michelangelo sculpt such a piece with absolute detail. Amazing !! Highly recommend getting tickets this way.

This is a must tour for first time visitors to Florence. The original David statue by Michaelangelo is here along with many other beautiful paintings and architecture. There is a "fake David" in the city hall square Piazza next to the Uffizzi museum that replaced the original that was located there for 350 years or so until moved to Accademia Museum . This tour meets you in front of the museum, gives you your tickets and brings you to the entrace and skips the long entrance line. It is not a guided tour. You are on your own inside the museum. It is not a huge place and you can wander thru at your own pace. There are guide books and headphones if you wish to pay extra. We didn't use them and I think we saw enough. Sit on the benches at several locations around the statue and stare at the magnificence of it all. David was carved from a single block of marble that was considered of poor quality. Unbelievable!

We booked these tickets in advance. And we had no problem to exchange the voucher for the tickets with the tour operator representative in front of the Galleria. This is a must to anyone visiting Florence, since it is the home of the original David by Michelangelo. Book in advance though. You may stay 2 to 3 hours in lines if you don’t have tickets. We did not hire a guide though. The Galleria is not that big compared to other museums. If you move fast as we do, one hour is enough.

Why go to Europe to stand on line? When we first arrived, we were told stand on line for the skip the line tour. I chuckled, but know that the line went very quickly while other patrons who had not purchased tickets very slowly made their way into La Accademia. Worth the money.
