Your first stop on this historical tours of Grand Cayman is the famous Conch Shell House. Dating back to 1935, this well-known landmark consist of more than 4,000 conch shells and was once used as a bomb depot by the US Navy in WWII. Having survived both hurricanes and floods, the Conch Shell House is a must-see when in the Cayman Islands.
Next, you'll head over to the Pedro St. James Great House - a national historic site where Caymanians met in 1831 to introduce democracy to the islands. Pedro St. James offers a window into times past and had several purposes over time - a courthouse, jail, Government Assembly and restaurant. A visitor center featuring a multi-media production resource center and gift shop will compliment your tour through the castle and its gardens.
